Cradle to Cradle Certified® is one of the most demanding standards in sustainable production. It evaluates five categories — material health, product circularity, clean air & climate protection, water & soil management, and social fairness — and rates performance across all five, from basic to platinum level.
What carries C2C certification at The Blue Suit? As of today, 38% of our entire collection — including our medium-heavy Black Denim and Ecru Denim line, every untreated wooden button, our labels, prints, washing processes, laser treatments, and even our Italian manufacturing facility itself.
Why isn't every collection piece C2C certified? Sadly, there are not enough C2C materials available. It is a complex, expensive, and highly restricted certification, and material producers and manufacturers are still not ready — or do not yet feel the urgency — to take this important step. More pressure from legislation will be needed to convince suppliers worldwide that it is, ultimately, both necessary and commercially viable.
What matters is this: both C2C and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 guarantee toxic-free production. The difference is that C2C goes further — it addresses circularity and environmental impact across the product's entire lifecycle, not just its safety for the person wearing it, but for our planet as well.
