Organic Cotton: grown without shortcuts

Organic cotton is grown without pesticides or insecticides, which means the soil stays healthy, less water is used in cultivation, and the farmers working the fields aren't exposed to toxic chemicals. It takes longer and costs more to produce than conventional cotton — and that's the point.

But organic farming is only the beginning. At The Blue Suit, every cotton fiber that enters our supply chain is certified organic and stays that way through the entire production process. Our blue denim carries GOTS certification, which covers both the organic growing standards and the processing that follows. Our black and ecru denim goes further, carrying Cradle to Cradle® Gold certification — which prohibits harmful dyes and chemical finishes entirely.

This matters because most garments labeled "organic cotton" are processed with conventional toxic dyes the moment they leave the farm. The label is technically accurate; the finished garment against your skin is not what that label implies.
